To encourage attendance, the committee has purchased a small quantity of useful items from the BCS Shop (e.g. data sticks) and there will be a free draw for possession of one of these delightful trinkets (data sticks and other Items) during the refreshments.

The Chairman’s Invitation Lecture will precede the AGM at 7.00pm. Dave Binns, an independent consultant, will describe the benefits and operations of the IT Infrastructure Library. ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) is a widely accepted approach to IT Service Management. ITIL provides a cohesive set of best practice, drawn from the public and private sectors internationally. It is supported by a comprehensive qualifications scheme, accredited training organisations, and implementation and assessment tools. This customisable framework defines how Service Management is applied within an organisation.

Service Support is the practice of those disciplines that enable IT Services to be provided effectively. Service Delivery covers the management of the IT services themselves.

As well as official description websites (such as www.itil.co.uk ) users of ITIL have a community site at www.itilcommunity.com where issues and problems can be resolved.

Your branch committee needs your support to continue in its work for all members.  We urgently need new committee members to help us run our events as in previous years.  We would be grateful for all nominations to join the committee using the forms included.

Optional additional information about key events

For details of all our events see our website http://teesside.bcs.org/

Yours sincerely,
