Ian Lockwood
Ian Graduated from University of Teesside with BSc(hons) Information Technology in 2002, holds qualifications in Prince 2, ITIL and TOGAF. He has over 30 years’ experience in health and social care both as a practitioner and in IT. He also served in the Army Reserves for 18 years working with data and voice communication networks. Since graduating Ian has held various roles within the NHS from programmer to CIO and holds extensive knowledge of NHS IT. Ian currently works as a freelance ICT Consultant. Linkedin

Charlotte Hughes MBCS CITP
Charlotte graduated with a BA (Hons) from the University of Teesside in 1997. She has over 12 years experience within I.T., both in an operational and support capacity with a focus upon ITIL Service Management, PRINCE2 Project Management and Procurement. Charlotte was awarded British Computer Society Chartered IT Professional (MBCS CITP) status in 2007 and contines with her professional development, with keen interest in education and technology. In latter years Charlotte has taken a career break to start and raise a family.

Mark Brookes (email)
Mark graduated in 1990 with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Teesside. He has worked for 10 years in IT research in the steel industry developing AI and Expert systems solutions (amongst other things). He has also been a software developer for an internet business directory and an FE college network manager before moving into contracting and working for two large NHS organisations in support and project management. He is currently contracted to a large north east call centre/customer fulfilment centre as an IT Systems Consultant.

David Binns BSc MSc MBCS CITP (email)
David has over 22 years experience in IT working within Healthcare / Banking and for IT services companies. He studied at Teesside for his BSc Degree in Computer Science and then at Sunderland / Teesside attaining an MSc in Medical Informatics. His main interests are with Service and Project Management, Business Analysis, Systems Design and Development and database / Workflow systems. David is currently working as a Service and Project Management Consultant based in the North East of England.

Urfan graduated with BSc (Hons) in I. T. from Teesside University in 2002, after working abroad for 2 years, he began his career with Barclays Bank PLC in 2005. He is now a Lead UAT Manager for the Retail and Business Banking area.

Iain Brownlie BSc CEng MBCS (email)
Iain Brownlie has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Edinburgh University and worked with Logica and RCA Systems Ltd for 5 years before joining ICI Engineering Department in 1985 where he worked on various ICI plants in the UK and abroad. He transferred into the ICI Eutech Engineering Services business in 1995 which was subsequently purchased by ABB in 2001. Over the past 30 years, Iain has been involved in a range of automation and control projects primarily in the Chemical and Petrochemical Sectors. In recent years, Iain has been the System Manager for a number of computer systems dealing with the Ethylene Pipelines operated by SABIC UK Petrochemicals covering the SCADA, Leak Detection and Geographical Information Systems.

Iain is a member of the British Computer Society and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng, CITP) with certifications in both functional safety (FSEng) and security (CISSP) and now works as a Senior Consultant in the Safety Solution Group within ABB Consulting.

Akram El Gabry (email)
Akram graduated in 1992 with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Teesside. He has worked for IBM since 1992 where he spent his first initial five years working in service management supporting central fulfilment in the area of Management Information and ran a small team providing fulfilment data to European HQ. He has spent the past ten years working for IBM Procurement where he has a global role focusing on Global Procurement processes and tools including qualifying as a SAP Application Consultant back in 2000. His latest focus area has been on eSourcing supporting IBM buyers in using the latest technology to help realise greater cost savings.

Andrew Simpson BSc MBCS RITTech (email)
Andrew graduated with BSc (Hons) Computing and Networks in 2011 from Teesside University. He has experience working in IT working within Education, a local Fire Brigade and is currently working in a local NHS Trust’s Medical Physics Department as a Clinical Technologist in Computing, where he is a Systems Manager for a number of systems and is able to apply Computer Science to his work. He has diverse interests in both Computer Science and IT and is passionate about both subjects. His main interests are in Computer Architecture, Networks and Infrastructure, Cyber Security, AI, Computer Vision and IT Service Management. He also enjoys programming.

Andrew is a Member of the British Computing Society and hopes to apply for CITP Status from March 2017, and work towards CEng.
